Finding Pilots Point is pretty straight forward. The flats are situated right on the beach promenade at Totland Bay, we’ll also  provide a standard parking space for one vehicle for the duration of your stay. Depending how you are getting here, please use our guide below..

By Car

If you are coming by car it is most likely that you’re heading to us from one of the ferry terminals that connect the mainland to the Island. The Yarmouth Car Ferry is closest and will take approximately 15 minutes to get to Totland Beach.

From Yarmouth – As you leave Yarmouth ferry terminal you’ll find yourself at a roundabout, At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A3054 (to the right), stay on this road until you reach a 2nd roundabout, go straight over this roundabout (2nd exit) to take you into Totland Village. At the 3rd roundabout (at the Broadway), turn right onto Madeira Road (3rd exit) and carry on straight down and go across the junction and down on to Totland Beach. Turn left at the pier and you’ll find Pilots Point halfway down the promenade. (Googlemap Link)

From East Cowes – If you are coming from the East Cowes (Red Funnel) Car Ferry there are a couple of routes that you could take. The easiest route is to go via Yarmouth and will take around 40 minutes. The other route is to go via Freshwater and will take a similar amount of time though you will need to go through Newport Town Centre and is more complicated.

You’ll need to head towards Newport via the A3021. At the traffic lights when you reach the end of Fairlee Road turn right onto Medina Way/A3020, (if you go past this turning and find yourself on Coppins Bridge, just carry on and follow the signs back towards Cowes to turn you round and get you back on track). At the end of this dual carriageway you’ll find another roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A3054 (Forest Road). This 20 minute drive will take you all the way to Yarmouth whereby you can follow the above directions. (Googlemap Link)

From Fishbourne – If you’re coming via the Fishbourne Car Ferry, from the terminal take your first right and carry on that road (B3731) until you reach the T-junction with traffic lights. Turn right at the lights onto Kite Hill (A3054), keep going until you reach the roundabout at the bottom of Lushington Hill. Take the first exit and stay on this road (still the A3054) until you reach the traffic lights at the end of Fairlee Road, keep in the right lane here. Take the right and head up towards Medina Way (the A3020)At the end of this dual carriageway you’ll find another roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A3054 (Forest Road). This 20 minute drive will take you all the way to Yarmouth whereby you can follow the above directions. (Googlemap Link)

By Public Transport

Totland War Memorial is the nearest bus stop to Totland Beach and therefore Pilots Point. The buses run fairly frequently to Totland from Newport in the centre of the Island. Take Route 7 (Link) for a 55 minute ride from Newport Bus Station*.

Route 12 (Link) – also from Newport Bus Station* – takes about the same time, but is a little more picturesque as it takes you along the coast road. But it is more infrequent.

When you get off the bus at Totland War Memorial (The Broadway) head down Madeira Road (alongside The Broadway Inn / Post Office), at the end of this road there’s a junction which you should cross straight over, this will take you down to the seaside and just a short walk along the promenade to Pilots Point.

*Getting to Newport Bus Station from other locations such as Cowes or Ryde is straightforward too, view the Southern Vectis website for more timetables here – Island Buses.
